Testing, certification and issuing of a gas compliance certificate for any boat containing any gas fixtures or appliances. Issuing a gas certificate requires that we undertake an inspection inclusive of a leak test of your LP gas system and gas appliances for compliance to Australian gas safety standards and regulations as per AS/NZS 5601.2:2013. Any boat must have a current gas compliance certificate when transferring ownership with private sales requiring the gas compliance certificate to be issued three months prior to the transfer of ownership.

All marine gas fitting on a boat in Australia must comply with AS/NZS 5601.2:2013. This standard applies whether the boat was built in Australia or overseas and is applicable to any seagoing or inland water craft including, but not limited to, a motorboat, yacht, cabin cruiser, launch, runabout, trailer-sailer, house-boat, motor-sailer or work-boat.
All boat owners are required to be aware of the informative consumer instructions of AS/NZS 5601.2:2013 that apply to operating LPG systems on a boat. If you require a copy of AS 5601.2-2013 Appendix G, “Consumer Instructions for Boats”, please contact us.
Marine gas fittings such as LP gas cylinders on a boat including the cylinder valves must be suitable for the purpose and for the environment in which they are used and need to comply with AS 2030.1.
Generally gas cylinders shall not be installed in a boat unless it can be demonstrated that by its design or location LP gas vapour cannot enter or accumulate in or on the boat.
